Every year at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine annual scientific meeting and expo, the Kavoussi Family Outstanding Teacher Award is given to a teacher in reproductive medicine. The candidate who is awarded this scholarship is recognized as an outstanding educator in reproductive medicine. The award is made possible through an educational endowment from members of the Kavoussi family.
This year’s award went to Dr. Marc Goldstein, professor of reproductive medicine and urology at Cornell Medical College in New York. Dr. Goldstein is well known for his pioneering work in vasectomy reversals, microsurgical varicocele repairs, and male fertility. He has authored multiple scientific journal articles and textbook chapters.
Dr. Parviz Kavoussi states, “This award was well deserved by Dr. Goldstein who has contributed to the advancement of reproductive urology and has taught and trained a large number of reproductive urologists in the U.S. We are pleased to be able to contribute this award to a teacher every year, as none of us would be here without our teachers.”
