Henry Chen, M.S.

Henry Chen, M.S. is a Senior Embryologist at Austin Fertility & Reproductive Medicine/Westlake IVF. He has been a part of the team since January, 2017. Henry earned his BSc degree from the Animal Science Department at the National Chung-Hsing University (Taiwan) in 1990. He went on to obtain his MSc degree in Biomedicine with an emphasis in Animal Physiology from Colorado State University in 1996. Upon completion, he continued his research in reproductive medicine and animal science. In 2006, he transferred into the clinical reproductive medical laboratories. Henry is proficient in all aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) including blastomere and trophectoderm biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGD/PGS). His research topics include:

  • Development of ICSI for a variety of animal species
  • Nuclear transfer
  • In Vitro maturation
  • Cell culture (sematic and embryonic stem cell)
