Assisted hatching is a technique used in the IVF lab in order to increase the probability for implantation of an embryo.  Dr. Shahryar Kavoussi recently had an article on the topic of assisted hatching for IVF accepted for publication in the Journal of Fertilization In Vitro – IVF Worldwide, Reproductive Medicine, Genetics & Stem Cell Biology.  This article reviews the existing literature on assisted hatching and provides information on the methods of assisted hatching as well as the effects of assisted hatching on clinical outcomes.
