Non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA), a condition where there is no sperm in the semen due to impaired sperm production rather than a blockage in the reproductive tract, is one of the most challenging diagnoses in male reproductive medicine. As a guest editor for the Asian Journal of Andrology, Dr. Parviz Kavoussi co-authored a manuscript addressing the latest advancements in the management of NOA. Dr. Kavoussi states, “So often I will see patients who have been told they have no chance of having children with their own sperm as they have no sperm in the semen. Fortunately, technology and techniques have improved over the years to give many of these men just that opportunity, which is what we do in our practice week in week out. It was a pleasure to be able to share insights regarding NOA in this manuscript.”
