Kavoussi Outstanding Teacher Award Dr. Paul McDonough

The Inaugural American Society for Reproductive Medicine Kavoussi Outstanding Teacher Award Received by Dr. Paul McDonough

The inaugural American Society for Reproductive Medicine Kavoussi Outstanding Teacher Award was received by Dr. Paul McDonough. Dr. McDonough is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Physiology and Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia. This award annually honors a different ASRM member who is recognized as an outstanding educator in undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, professional or patient education in the area of basic and/or clinical reproductive biology and medicine. Professor McDonough is a leading pioneer in introducing molecular genetics into the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He has mentored thirty-four REI fellows as well as a number of medical students, residents, and graduate students. Dr. Kavoussi states, “we felt it was very important to create an award to honor an educator in reproductive medicine every year. The fact is, none of us would be where we are without our teachers. They are also the ones advancing reproductive research to help improve the care we can provide for fertility patients every day.”
