Non-Obstructive Azoospermia

Dr. Parviz Kavoussi Authors Two Chapters on Non-Obstructive Azoospermia

Non-obstructive azoospermia, having a sperm count of zero due to testicular cellular failure in making sperm rather than a blockage, is the most challenging clinical situation in male fertility. Fortunately, effective treatments are available to give couples an opportunity to conceive with the male partner’s sperm through minimally invasive surgery and high levels of technology, which Dr. Parviz Kavoussi regularly offers to patients in his practice at AFRM.

Because this is such a complex condition, and Dr. Kavoussi is recognized as an expert in the field, he was requested to contribute two chapters to a recently released textbook on non-obstructive azoospermia. He authored chapters titled “The Role of Varicocele (i.e., Abnormally Dilated Scrotal Veins) Repair in Patients with Non-Obstructive Azoospermia” and “Summary of the Most Recent International Guidelines on Non-Obstructive Azoospermia.”

Dr. Kavoussi states, “I am hopeful that these chapters and this textbook will assist other physicians taking care of patients in this extraordinarily challenging situation.”
