Dr. Luke Machen will be joining Austin Fertility and Reproductive Medicine/Westlake IVF after completing a reproductive urology and andrology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Machen completed undergraduate at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill before returning to Louisiana to obtain his M.D. from Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Machen then moved to central Texas, completing his urologic residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. While a resident, Dr. Machen was selected to the Arnold P Gold Humanism Honor Society, designed to recognize leaders who exemplify compassionate patient care.
Dr. Machen is excited to join Dr. Kavoussi as a fellowship-trained reproductive urologist in Austin specializing in vasectomy, vasectomy reversal, and other microsurgical procedures to promote men’s health and fertility. Dr. Machen’s publications include textbook chapters, invited reviews, and other articles in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Machen is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the American Urologic Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, the American Society of Andrology, and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
