As the use of the operative microscope for male fertility surgery is evolving to use of a robotic microsurgical platform, Dr. Parviz Kavoussi has been one of the leaders of this transition. He has published studies on the use of this technology for robot assisted microsurgical vasectomy reversal. As a leader in the field, he was selected as a scientific abstract reviewer to assess the quality of abstracts being submitted for the minimally invasive surgery week of the 2017 Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons meeting taking place in San Francisco. He remarks, “It is really a pleasure to be involved with such an outstanding society and to help shape the content of the meeting. This is a very exciting area of medicine where classic surgical principles combine with the highest level of technology.”
